Hacked "Master Card"
This type of card seems to be sold with no printing, when inserted to the machine it boots you to the make/model selection screen as if you are registering a new card. You can then make a card with any car make/model and any name. This card will carry over the stats of whatever data was written on it however it is not printed as USED so acts like a normal card, also does not require machine to have cards in stock. It seems the implementation of this may have caused the USED card glitch

How to make: You need to set the isSpecial flag of a card with data to 1, the only known way to do this is to boot 3dx+ in debug mode, find the debug card writer and program in whatever details you want for the card and change the card type to special
UPDATE: This is now doable with MT3 Card Tools by setting the "overhaul" value to 61!

- Clear first 30 opponents quick enough that you take the C1 branch
- Trail behind devil Z. Eventually you will see it pulls over to the side and stops

Maximum Tune 3DX
Maximum Tune 3 Discard Transfer Bug
This glitch allows you to transfer a discard with all the stats of the card before it was discarded. How to perform:
- Insert card
- Insert amount of credits and transfer
THIS ONLY WORKS ON VERSION A (Machines that do not say Ver.B or Ver.C at the bottom of the title screen). Also does not work on 3dx+ even with 3dx present cards.

USED Card Glitch
This allows you to use a USED wmmt3/3dx card and transfer the stats to ANY car make/model (e.g. you can create a full tune R35). THIS ONLY WORKS ON VERSION A (Machines that do not say Ver.B at the bottom of the title screen). How to perform:
- Insert the USED card into the game, it should say card is invalid. Take the card when it is spit out and re insert it
- Repeat this until the game automatically selects no
- Insert required amount of credits to buy a new card
- Select car make/model and enter any name
- Race as much as you want
PLEASE NOTE IF YOU SELECT NO ON THE CONTINUE SCREEN THE GAME WILL SPIT OUT A BLANK USED CARD THAT CAN NO LONGER BE USED!
Troubleshooting
The game displays a "Card ejected, take card" message even when there is not a card in the reader
There is a CR2450 battery soldered to the main card reader board which tends to die. Try replacing this. If that still doesnt work replace the card presence switch. If this still doesnt work you will need to replace the reader
The game displays "USB DONGLE ERROR" during bootup
Please make sure the black dongle is plugged in
The game displays "USB DONGLE ERROR" during attract
Please make sure the green and black dongle is plugged in
The game displays "USB DONGLE BATTERY ERROR" during attract
The battery in the black dongle has run down. Open up the dongle and resolder in a new coin battery of the same voltage. If this does not work you will need a new dongle
There has been reports of this not fixing the issue. The dongles RTC may need resetting after this procedure, the method for doing this is not known
The game displays "Please reboot to clear the system" during attract AND/OR the game runs slowly at random points
Replace the CMOS battery in your N2 with a new one, turn on the game, turn it off and on again once attract mode is reached, then wait 30-60 minutes
Slowdown of this nature is caused by the FSB (Front Side Bus) speed being set back to the (incorrect) default. This procedure causes the N2 to re-flash its CMOS during bootup with the correct FSB settings. It is paramount your CMOS is functioning for the N2 to work proprely, a lot of weird issues are a result of this
The accelerator/brake/wheel are not calibrated properly
Go to the I/O menu in the test menu then go to "I/F INITALISE". Dont touch the accelerator or brake and make sure the wheel is centered. Then press the test button and push the pedals/wheel and make sure when you hit the limit for each it says "OK"
Steering error occurs, and when running "I/F INITALISE" an error is shown
Faulty STR PCB. These can sometimes be tempermental and can be solved by a simple restart
If faulty, maximum tune 3-3dx+ is compatible with the (much stronger and more reliable) STR3 pcb used in dead heat. These are a drop in replacement with possibly just some wiring harness work needed
The game runs fine then starts to run super slowly
Make sure you have the custom BIOS written to your GPU
The cause of this happening is still largely unknown
A buzzing noise is outputted halfway through linux boot and does not stop
Your motherboard has a faulty sound card
